27-year-old man hospitalized after being shot in chest in Philadelphia: Police

An investigation is underway after police said a man was shot in the chest in Philadelphia overnight.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 5:46 a.m., officers responded to the 2900 block of North 5th Street for a reported shooting.
Police said a 27-year-old man had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to the hospital by medics.
At this time, police said the identity of the suspect is unknown.
