Sabres discover scoring touch in first win of season

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Pregame cries for management upheaval gave way to "Let's Go Buffalo" chants, cheering for more and more goals, and applause from the KeyBank Center crowd as the Sabres skated past their early scoring struggles for their first victory of the season.
Jack Quinn, Ryan McLeod, Jason Zucker each scored twice and Buffalo got additional goals from Alex Tuch and Jiri Kulich in an 8-4 win Wednesday night against the Ottawa Senators coming after the Sabres scored only twice in losing the first three games.
Zach Benson in his season debut and Josh Doan each had three assists, captain Rasmus Dahlin and Tage Thompson assisted on two goals apiece, Alex Lyon made 33 saves, and the Sabres scored three times on power plays following an 0 for 11 drought with the man advantage coming into the night.
Staving off the first 0-4-0 in team history, Buffalo followed a trend from last season. Having scored three goals in three losses to begin the year, the Sabres went 4-1-1 with 27 goals over the next six games.
Buffalo's next game is at home Saturday against the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
