2 rescued from boat near Peace Bridge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Two people were rescued on Wednesday from the water near the Peace Bridge and the Buffalo Yacht Club, according to police.
The Buffalo Fire Department responded to a report of a boat taking on water around 1:20 p.m. A private boat assisted in the rescue as the water was too shallow for the fire department's water rescue vessels to respond.
The U.S. Coast Guard and Buffalo police also responded to the scene.
Two people wearing life vests were saved from the boat and taken to Erie Basin Marina for evaluation.
