Man accused of repeated sex crimes in Pacific Beach pleads not guilty

A man accused of committing a series of sex crimes in Pacific Beach pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 13 misdemeanor charges that include indecent exposure, lewd conduct, sexual battery and vandalism.

Jonathan Everett Dreaden, 25, is accused in a string of January incidents that allegedly included sexual batteries against two women in public and “repeatedly” exposing himself and masturbating in public places, according to the San Diego City Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors also allege that after harassing employees at a local bar and being removed from the establishment, Dreaden climbed onto the roof of the business, damaging a satellite system.

County jail records indicate Dreaden was booked into custody on Friday and was being held on $65,000 bail. Dreaden, who is due back in court next week, was ordered by the court Tuesday to stay away from the businesses where the alleged incidents happened if he’s released.

“This type of predatory and disturbing conduct will not be tolerated in our community,” San Diego City Attorney Heather Ferbert said in a statement. “Women and families should be able to walk through their neighborhoods and visit local businesses without being subjected to harassment, exposure, or sexual assault.”
