An's Gelato shop moving into iconic ‘Top Gun' House in Oceanside
An’s Dry Cleaning is opening up shop in Oceanside, inside the iconic “Top Gun” House.
The gelato shop, named best in the nation by USA Today in 2025, announced on its Instagram page Saturday that it is opening up shop at the iconic house by summer 2026.
The “Top Gun” house, which you can recall was the beachfront home of Maverick’s (Tom Cruise) love interest, Charlie (Kelly McGillis), in the 1986 film, originally housed High Pie, but they closed the location this past January.

This will be An’s fifth location in San Diego County.
An’s is known for naming its gelato shops after the building it occupies, such as An’s Dry Cleaning in North Park, An’s Electronic Repair in Ocean Beach, An’s Hatmakers in Del Mar and the An’s Athletic Field Services at Petco Park.

The name given to the “Top Gun” house will be An’s Gate D5, as announced on its website.

The bright-blue house was built as a vacation home in 1887 for Dr. Henry Graves.
It was moved from its original location in 2020 when a mid-rise beach resort took over the land it previously sat on. Instead of knocking down the historic home — which would have caused outrage amongst many San Diegans — the house was towed just up the street, where it became part of the Mission Pacific Hotel with a perfect view of the Pacific Ocean.
The exterior maintains a similar original blue color and its beachfront feel with a hanging swing on its front porch. Outside, you’ll find a refurbished Kawasaki Ninja ZX900 Motorcycle, which is– you guessed it — a replica of the one Tom Cruise rode in the 1986 film.
