Alicia Silverstone visits dog and puppies she rescued at Helen Woodward Animal Center
Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone paid a visit to Helen Woodward Animal Center to tour the facilities and visit a dog and her puppies which she helped rescue last December right before they were supposed to be euthanized.
Center staff say that Silverstone, who has worked with the shelter on previous campaigns, reached out to them about a social media post about an orphaned terrier-blend pregnant dog who was scheduled to be euthanized at a San Bernadino shelter within 24 hours.
The staff made their way to the shelter where they picked up the pregnant dog, who has now been named Noel.
She gave birth to twelve puppies who were later named after the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Silverstone spoke about the importance of rescuing animals from shelters, saying, “This is something that is so manageable and solvable if people spay and neuter, stop going to breeders, stop going to pet stores, and just rescue.”
Drummer, Piper, Lord, Lady, Maid, Swan, Goose, Ring, Calling Bird, French Hen, Turtle Dove, Partridge, and their mom Noel, will all be available for adoption mid-February.
