  • The Philadelphia region, surrounding Pennsylvania suburbs, South Jersey and Delaware got hit with one of the the biggest snowstorms in years.
  • A FIRST ALERT was in effect through midnight on Monday for Philadelphia, the surrounding Pennsylvania suburbs, South Jersey and Delaware due to an arctic blast, heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain.
  • A prolonged period of freezing rain and sleet continued Sunday night that caused dangerous road conditions, but power outages were sparing.
  • The system moved out of our region around 9 p.m. on Sunday.
  • The Philadelphia region and surrounding suburbs got between four and nine inches of snow, the Lehigh Valley got over eight inches of snow, South Jersey got more than five inches of snow and coastal Delaware and the Jersey Shore over four inches of snow.
  • People were urged to avoid unnecessary travel and if they do have to go on the roadways, and they are still being urged to do so with extra caution.
