Videos: Man attacks Philly postal worker, police say

A man was arrested after he was caught on multiple videos attacking a female postal worker in Northeast Philadelphia over the weekend, police said.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, on the 4600 block of Horrocks Street. A man, later identified as 25-year-old Fabián Colón, was driving in the area when he became angry over a United States Postal Service (USPS) truck that was blocking a one-way street, police said.

Colón allegedly got out of his vehicle, went inside the USPS truck and tried to drive off. The postal worker then went into her truck and pulled the keys out of the ignition, sources said. She then began to record the incident as Colón confronted and attacked her, according to investigators.

Videos posted on social media showed a man – who police identified as Colón – attacking the woman. Officials are currently using the videos as part of their investigation. Warning: The videos embedded below contain explicit language.

Police responded to the scene and arrested Colón. The postal worker was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.

Colón is charged with aggravated assault, theft by unlawful taking-movable property, receiving stolen property, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

The street where the incident occurred is incredibly narrow and neighbors told NBC10 mail carriers normally park in the corner unless they can’t find parking and have to make a quick delivery.

“Oftentimes it is somebody double parked. But I never got out and assaulted anybody because of it. Just back off the block,” Tamyra McIntosh, a neighbor, told NBC10. “It’s unsettling. It’s a lot of things. It’s just the neighborhood is getting worse.”

Colón posted 10% of $25,000 bail, according to court documents. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 21, 2025.

NBC10 reached out to Colón’s attorney who has no official comment at this time. The U.S. Postal Service is also assisting police with the investigation.

The National Association of Letter Carriers President of the Philadelphia chapter told NBC10 that the worker involved in this incident is shaken up and in shock, adding “the safety of letter carriers is the top priority.”

CORRECTION: The article previously stated the incident occurred at the 6500 block of Horrocks Street, when it occurred at the 4600 block.
