Temple University issues warning after 2 students robbed off campus
Temple University is issuing an alert for students after two robberies happened off campus this week.
According to the school’s police department, two students had their phones stolen in separate robberies that happened off-campus.
The first robbery happened just after 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21 on the 1800 block of West Montgomery Avenue.
The second robbery happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22 on the 1500 block of Oxford Street, police said.
Two suspects had approached the student and as they ran away one of them allegedly fired a single shot into the air, according to police.
Police said that in both cases, the thieves displayed a handgun.
No one was hurt in these cases, officials said. No one has been arrested yet.
