The shooting happened around 6:12 p.m. on Oct. 9, at the intersection of Broad Street and Packer Avenue, police said.

When officers got to the scene, they found 23-year-old Hason Mason suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest, torso and arm, police explained. He was taken to a nearby hospital by medics where he was pronounced dead around 6:48 p.m.

A second 23-year-old man was also found suffering from at least two gunshot wounds to his torso, according to police. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

According to Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small, investigators have found 21 spent shell casings that appear to be from at least one semi-automatic weapon.

Officials explained that they also found a loaded magazine at the scene.

A four-door sedan was found still running with at least 15 bullet holes in the driver’s side and rear windshield, Small said.

Cameras nearby captured some of the incident, Small said. The vehicle hit by gunfire continued to drive half a block before it turned onto Broad Street and crashed into a parked car.

Small said that a woman was in the parked car when it was hit, so she was taken to police headquarters to be questioned as a witness.

There were also several witnesses at the scene when police got there who are being questioned by investigators, Small said.

The shooter, or shooters, were allegedly last seen in either a silver or dark-colored small SUV that was traveling northbound on Broad Street away from Packer Avenue, Small said.
