Police: Man struck in drive-thru of Crescentville McDonald's, critically hurt

Police say a 44-year-old man was placed in critical condition on Saturday night after being struck while laying on the pavement in a McDonald’s drive-thru in Philadelphia’s Crescentville section.

According to police, officers responded to a McDonald’s located along the 700 block of Adams Avenue in Philadelphia’s Crescentville section at about 11:14 p.m. on Saturday night after receiving a report of a pedestrian being struck at that location.

Officials said officers at the scene spoke to the driver of a 20215 Ford, who said he was driving through the McDonald’s drive-thru lane when his vehicle ran over a 44-year-old man who was laying on the ground.

The driver stayed at the scene of the crash and, officials said, the man who was struck was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition as of Sunday morning.

Police said no charges against the driver involved in this incident were immediately filed following the crash.

An investigation into the incident, officials said, is ongoing.
