Pilot hurt after small plane crashes in Franconia Twp., Pa., officials say
A pilot was taken to the hospital after his small plane crashed in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday evening, officials confirmed.
The crash occurred in a field near the 700 block of Cowpath Road in Franconia Township just before 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 12, officials said.
A man was flying his Weedhopper 277 Ultraflight — a homemade aircraft — in the dark when he crashed into the top of a tree, according to investigators. The man then fell about 30 feet to the ground.
Police said the man was conscious and alert when they arrived. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
