Pa. man accused of sexually abusing children faces more charges, officials say

A Pennsylvania man who was arrested earlier this year for allegedly sexually abusing children and possessing child sexual assault material was arrested again and faces more charges after investigators identified eight more underage victims, officials said.

The investigation began in December 2025 when Abington Police received a report of a man soliciting an underage girl for sexual acts and sexually explicit photos and videos in the Willow Grove section of the township. Police later identified the man as 38-year-old Deren Thach of Ambler, Pennsylvania, and also learned there were other underage victims, officials said.

Investigators executed a search warrant at Thach’s apartment on March 6, 2026. Police said they seized child sexual assault material and other evidence. Thach was charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor.

After the charges were filed, Thach surrendered to Abington Township Police on March 12.

After Thach’s initial arrest, police identified eight more underage victims, officials said. Thach was then arrested again on June 2 at his home in Ambler. He was charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors, sexual abuse of children/possessing child sexual assault material, sexual assault, indecent assault and trafficking in individuals.

Thach was arraigned on June 3 and his bail was set at $1 million.

NBC10 reached out to Thach’s attorney, Jeffrey Allen Sigman, after the initial arrest in March.

“My client is not guilty of the charges,” Sigman said. “We will defend him vigorously. And we look forward to his day in court.”

NBC10 reached out to Sigman again for comment on the new allegations against his client. We will include a statement if we receive one.
