- The first gold medals of the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics were awarded today to Swiss racer Franjo von Allmen in men’s alpine skiing, Sweden’s Frida Karlsson women’s cross-country skiathlon, Italy’s Francesca Lollobrigida in women’s speed skating, Norway’s Anna Odine Stroem in women’s ski jumping and Japan’s Kira Kimura in men’s snowboarding.
