Oceanside teen hurt in hit-and-run accident
Oceanside police Saturday searched for a hit-and-run driver who sent a 13-year-old girl to a hospital with serious injuries.
Officers were sent to Douglas Drive and Pala Road in response to a traffic collision at about 7:40 p.m. Friday, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
They found that the teenage victim, who is from Oceanside, had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. First responders took the victim, who suffered major injuries, via air ambulance to a hospital, police said. The girl was said to have stable vital signs.
“Based on preliminary information, the suspect vehicle is believed to be a gray Toyota Camry with front-end damage,” according to the OPD.
