Deadly shooting in Camden leads to multi-vehicle crash, officials say
Camden County detectives are investigating a deadly shooting that led to a crash involving five vehicles Tuesday night, according to prosecutors.
Officials said the shooting and multi-vehicle crash happened just after 7 p.m. on June 2, 2026.
According to prosecutors, at approximately 7:02 p.m., Camden County Police Department officers responded to the 3300 block of Westfield Avenue in Camden after receiving an alert of the activation of a ShotSpotter, the technology that detects and alerts officers to gunfire.
When police arrived, according to prosecutors, they found multiple shell casings and an unoccupied car that had been shot at.
About five minutes later, officers from the Pennsauken Police Department responded to a crash involving five vehicles at Drexel Avenue and Route 130 in Pennsauken.
When officers arrived, they saw that one of the cars involved in the crash had been struck by gunfire.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Izaiah Minzy of Westville, was suffering from a gunshot wound, according to officials.
Minzy was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died about an hour later, prosecutors said.
Six other people who were involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
No arrests have been made.
