Woman trapped in car for 1 hour, 2 others also hurt after crash in Delaware

Three people were hurt, including a woman who was trapped inside her car for nearly one hour, after a crash in New Castle County on Tuesday night, according to the Office of Emergency Medical Services.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Old Baltimore Pike and Pleasant Valley Road, officials said.

When first responders got to the scene, they spent nearly 50 minutes rescuing a 25-year-old woman who was trapped in her car, officials explained.

The woman suffered injuries to her lower body and was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance where she was placed in critical condition, according to officials.

A 59-year-old man was also hurt with injuries to his chest and upper body because of the crash, officials reported. He was treated at the scene by medics before being taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

A third victim, identified as a 42-year-old woman, was hurt in the crash with injuries to her extremities and torso, officials said. She was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to a nearby hospital where she was listed in stable condition.

An investigation is underway by the Delaware State Police.
