Woman dies after being hit by vehicle in Kensington, police say
Police are investigating after a woman was struck and killed along East Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood early Wednesday, officials said.
According to police, officers responding to a call for an injured pedestrian found a woman, believed to be in her 40s or 50s, unresponsive in the roadway along the 1800 block of East Allegheny Avenue at about 2:23 a.m. on Wednesday.
She was suffering from head trauma, police said.
The woman, police said, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced at about 4:21 a.m.
So far, officials said, they have no further information on the vehicle that may have been involved in this incident.
But, an investigation is ongoing.
