Woman accused of administering Botox from Oakland Park home without license: Police

A South Florida woman was arrested and charged after she allegedly illegally administered cosmetic injections that left one victim in pain and with wounds so bad that she went to the hospital.

Megan Whitcomb, 35, faces charges of practicing medicine without an active license and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony after a patient told investigators she got multiple rounds of cosmetic injectables from Whitcomb out of her Oakland Park residence, police said.

“This occurred over a period of time with the victim. Albeit yes, the victim did keep going back, and additionally, it appears that not only does she have these medical injections, but it appears that she also has some sort of substance that she is also distributing to patients,” a prosecutor said in court Friday.

The victim reported she received three rounds of buttock injections from Whitcomb since 2024, investigators said in an arrest affidavit. Each round left her “in extreme pain” and “screaming and crying,” the victim told investigators, and each time, Whitcomb gave her either a pill or a substance described as a “rock crystal” to help with the pain.

The pill made the victim projectile vomit during her first round of injections, the affidavit said. The victim also reported that the rock crystal “tasted bad and was the worst taste she has ever experienced,” and that it didn’t help with the pain.

When the victim told Whitcomb she was in constant pain after the injections, Whitcomb told her it was normal, the affidavit stated.

The victim told investigators her buttocks became so swollen, bruised and inflamed that she couldn’t walk, sit, stand or even touch her own skin. Photos provided to investigators showed her skin was so bruised that it became black, and the injection sites became open wounds leaking pus and blood, the affidavit said.

The victim eventually went to the hospital to get her wounds treated, investigators said. She has since recovered.

On Dec. 16, police went undercover with the Florida Department of Health and scheduled an appointment wth Whitcomb for 24 units of Botox for $24. When they arrived at her residence, they reported that the room where the procedures were performed was unclean and that the procedure chair was covered with random items, the affidavit said.

Investigators said Whitcomb brought out a half-filled and expired bottle of the injectable Xeomin. She also advised that she has other brands of injectables, all of which, investigators noted, require a prescription.

During the session, detectives entered Whitcomb’s residence and arrested her. She was transported to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail.

Court records from Dec.16 show that Whitcomb is facing eviction for not paying over $10,000 in rent at her Oakland Park home.

In court on Friday, Whitcomb’s attorneys asked the judge for leniency, noting that she lives with an supports two kids, ages 1 and 9.

Whitcomb was held on a $5,500 bond and was ordered to have no contact with the victim and cannot practice medicine.
