Witnesses report that an argument led to 2 men shot in North Philly, police say
Police are investigating a double shooting that happened in North Philadelphia on Friday night.
The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. on April 3 near the intersection of Fox Street and Roberts Avenue, police said.
When officers got to the scene, they reported finding a black Kia Telluride and a gray Jeep Wrangler unattended with damage that made it appear like the two vehicles collided.
Officers said they found what looked like blood and a gun inside the Kia.
According to investigators, two men were inside the Jeep when they opened fire at the Kia which caused the Kia to crash into the Jeep.
Witnesses told police that some type of argument led to two people being shot.
The two men inside the Jeep ran toward a Wingstop restaurant that was nearby while the three people inside the Kia ran eastbound on Roberts Avenue, police said.
As officers examined the scene, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
A 23-year-old man was found on the 3100 block of Abbottsford Avenue with a gunshot wound to his right arm while a second 23-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to his face at the Exxon gas station on the 3200 block of Fox Street, police said.
Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment where they are both listed in stable condition, according to officials.
SkyForce10 was over the scene around 9:30 p.m. where a a black SUV could be seen half way into a grassy area and a black Jeep was stopped in the middle of the road as officers examined the area.
Not too far from where the vehicles were stopped, there was a line of police cars parked behind a SEPTA bus which appeared to be pulled over on the side of the road with its hazards on.
“There was a Route 82 bus near the location of the shooting but it was not struck by gunfire or otherwise involved,” a SEPTA spokesperson told NBC10.
The motive for this shooting remains unknown as the Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group investigates.
