Where to get free sandbags amid rainy San Diego weather
Before another storm reaches San Diego County, officials want residents to be prepared with supplies to prevent flooding.
Sandbags are being offered for free at various locations across the county ahead of the next rounds of rain expected overnight into Wednesday and Thursday afternoon through evening. And, NBC 7 meteorologists are tracking the potential for more rainfall next week.
County officials recommend that residents place sandbags in areas where mudslides and debris can flow downstream, causing damage to homes, flooding roadways, and clogging culverts and drains. In order to help, sand and/or bags are being offered at the following locations:
Some places may have a limited supply, so it’s best to call ahead and double-check availability. Don’t forget to bring a shovel for filling bags.
