What you need to know before trying to park for the Canes National Championship game

Buying a parking pass to tailgate at Hard Rock Stadium for the College Football Playoff National Championship may not be enough to get you inside.

Confusion remains over whether a parking pass allows fans to park at the stadium without a ticket to the game.

Earlier Tuesday, NBC6 reported that a game ticket was required to enter stadium grounds and the parking lots, citing a written statement from a Hard Rock Stadium representative.

After the article was published, a stadium source told NBC6 the statement was inaccurate.

Organizers now say they are still deciding whether people with parking passes but no game tickets will be allowed onto stadium parking lots.

A formal announcement is expected soon.

As game day approaches, the cost of tickets — including parking passes — has increased.
Online ticket sellers such as StubHub list parking in some stadium lots for as high as $3,000.
The price breakdown for parking passes, from lowest to highest as of Tuesday, includes:

Off-site parking

  • Lot 95: $71
  • Lot 70 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel: $107

Hard Rock Stadium parking

  • Yellow Lot: $338 to $855
  • Orange Lot: $670
  • Maroon Lot: $776
  • Black South Lot: $3,680

The Miami Hurricanes will face the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers on Jan. 19.
