Video shows arrest of man suspected in two fatal shootings in Miami-Dade

New police body camera video shows the arrest of a man suspected in a shooting spree that left two men dead in South Florida last month.

Dennard Barnes, 35, is accused of carrying out the shooting spree on Feb. 20 that included the killing of 45-year-old Gabriel Floyd Hubbert, a father of six, in Miami Gardens.

He’s also believed to be behind the fatal shooting of a man identified by family as 35-year-old Joshua Nelson, a father of five, in North Miami.

Later that night, police said Barnes was believed to be involved in a shooting in Cocoa.

The new bodycam footage shows Cocoa Police officers catching up with Barnes after he allegedly shot another person in Brevard County.

Police said he tried to run over officers in a van and then go inside an apartment.

In the video, officers order Barnes to get on the ground but he continues to stand until he’s hit with police Tasers.

Multiple officers are seen struggling with Barnes before an officer with a K-9 responds.

“Clear, clear, clear! Give me a hole!” the K-9 officer yells as the other officers back off and the dog goes after Barnes.

“Get that guy, get that guy!” the officer yells at the K-9.

Multiple officers continue to use their Tasers on Barnes until he stops moving and is placed in handcuffs.

Barnes was booked into jail and remains behind bars without bond.

Detectives said Barnes is known by all of the victims, but what led up to the crime spree is still a mystery.
