Vegetation fire in San Marcos prompts evacuations to nearby residences
A vegetation fire prompted evacuations on Easter Sunday in San Marcos.
The vegetation fire was reported at 3 p.m. around the 500 block of La Moree Road. The Sheriff’s Department helped evacuate residences in the immediate area and set a temporary evacuation point at Mission Hills High School.
Forward progress was stopped at 4:10 p.m., and the fire burned almost 2 acres, according to CAL FIRE San Diego.
