U.S. Postal worker arrested in money order thefts at South Miami apartments: Cops
A United States Postal Service worker was arrested in the theft of money orders from multiple victims at South Miami apartment buildings after he was caught on camera cashing them in at ATMs, authorities said.
Jayven Christian Jolly, 31, was arrested Wednesday on charges of grand theft, organized scheme to defraud, communications fraud, forgery, and uttering forged instruments, an arrest report said.

According to the report, Jolly, who is a USPS employee working out of the South Miami Post Office branch, was allegedly stealing and fraudulently cashing money orders from apartment dropboxes.
One victim said he’d placed four money orders in the apartment rent dropbox at the Villa Fontana building at 7540 Southwest 59th Court as payment for his December rent.
He later learned from the landlord that the rent payment wasn’t received so he filed a claim with Western Union and it was discovered the money orders totaling $1,800 were later cashed by Jolly, the report said.
There was already an active investigation involving multiple victims with similar incidents involving stolen rent money orders from apartment dropboxes that involved thousands of dollars worth of money orders cashed by Jolly, the report said.
Surveillance video from a Navy Federal Credit Union showed Jolly in possession of several money orders while cashing them at an ATM, the report said.

Jolly, who lives in North Miami Beach, was taken into custody, arrested and booked into jail.
A USPS spokesperson said Thursday that Jolly is employed by the Postal Service but is currently in a non-duty status.
“Due to privacy issues, the Postal Service does not publicly discuss personnel matters,” USPS spokesperson Debra Jean Fetterly said.
