Update: Poway teen with ghost-gun assault rifle, body armor arrested in Oklahoma

On Saturday, November 15, just before 4:30 p.m., Cameron Johnson was arrested by authorities in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s

On Tuesday, November 11, Johnson fled from San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputies in Poway during an investigation into the negligent discharge of a firearm. He eluded deputies for several hours before the search was called off.

On Thursday, November 13, a warrant was issued for Johnson’s arrest by the San Diego Superior Court.
Authorities in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma contacted Johnson this afternoon and took him into custody. He will be booked into Oklahoma County Jail and returned to San Diego where he will face charges of illegal possession of an assault weapon and six counts of illegally possessing a firearm, ammunition, gun parts and magazines in violation of a gun violence restraining order.

The investigation is ongoing. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information related to this case to call the Poway Sheriff’s Station at (858) 513-2800.
