Up-and-Down Chances for April Showers

While Mother Nature hasn’t pulled off any jokes on this first day of April — often known as April Fools’ Day — April showers do return to the forecast to more areas coming up.

For this evening, we’re looking at partly cloudy skies and a spotty shower. For areas hoping to view the Artemis II launch, conditions should be favorable for most areas. South Florida should be able to see the rocket about a minute after liftoff while looking toward the east.

By Thursday, a bump in moisture reaches South Florida, leading to a rise in rain chances. Therefore, expect scattered passing showers and downpours, especially during the first half of the day.

Otherwise, Thursday will be warm and breezy with that easterly wind staying strong.

Winds will remain strong through the rest of the week before coming down by Sunday as an elongated area of low pressure nears Florida.

That disturbance will lead to another rise in rain chances around that time. So on Friday, we turn mostly dry before scattered showers return over the weekend.

As a result, showers will be possible at times for Easter Sunday. Temperatures will be warm throughout the day in the 70s in the morning and 80s in the afternoon.

The pattern will remain unsettled into at least the first half of next week with additional moisture flowing in ahead and a long of a front. Plenty of opportunities for April showers and storms are on the way!
