Two San Diego Police officers hit by car in Pacific Beach
Two officers were hit by a car driving the wrong way in Pacific Beach on Saturday, sending at least one of them to the hospital with minor injuries, San Diego Police said.
The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the intersection between Thomas Avenue and Mission Boulevard. Initial reports from witnesses at the scene describe that the driver was driving the wrong way on Thomas Street when the vehicle struck the two on-duty officers who were crossing the road in a marked intersection, according to SDPD Officer Anthony Carrasco.
One of the officers was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the other officer did not report any injuries and remained at the scene, according to Officer Carrasco.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
