Two 14-year-olds hurt after rolling over stolen car into police car

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two 14-year-olds were hurt when they allegedly rolled over a stolen Kia and hit a police car in Niagara Falls on Thursday night, according to police.

Police said they were attempting to pull over a Kia Sportage around 9 p.m. Thursday on Niagara Street near Portage Road when it hit a telephone pole on the corner of Osborne Court, spun and rolled head-on into a marked police vehicle. The Kia had been reported stolen by its owner, police said.

The 14-year-old female passenger was thrown from the car. She was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The male driver, also 14, was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for evaluation.

The crash remains under investigation. Police will follow up with any criminal charges for the teens.
