TSA Checkpoint for Terminal C reopens at Philadelphia International Airport

TSA Checkpoint for Terminal C reopened at Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday after being closed due to staffing shortages caused by the partial government shutdown, the airport announced.

However, Terminal A-West and Terminal F TSA checkpoints will remain closed.

The airport released the following statement:

“TSA checkpoint in Terminal C reopens tomorrow with regular operating hours. We appreciate your patience as we worked with TSA to keep security running smoothly. A big thank you to our staff for supporting travelers during the closure.”

TSA had been working without pay for over a month due to the government shutdown impacting the Department of Homeland Security, but they began receiving pay again on Monday after President Donald Trump signed an executive order.

The shutdown remains in place and it is unclear when Congress will pass a funding bill, which is being stalled due to disagreements over immigration enforcement tactics.
