Traffic delays on I-15 near SR-76 after deadly crash
Traffic was severely backed up Thursday morning on Interstate 15 in North County San Diego after a deadly crash.
The crash around 4 a.m. shut down all lanes of northbound Interstate 15 near state Route 76 for hours, the California Highway Patrol said.
Around 7 a.m., the CHP reported that the westbound and eastbound SR-76 on-ramps to I-15 were also closed.
Shortly before 8 a.m., officials said crews had reopened the far right lane on northbound I-15, though there was no estimated time for a full reopening.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
Significant delays were expected and drivers were urged to use other routes, including Rice Canyon Rd or Old Hwy 395. Get traffic information here.
