Teen girl in custody after man stabbed to death in Roxborough, police say
A teen girl was taken into custody on Sunday morning after, police said, a man was stabbed to death in a home in Philly’s Roxborough neighborhood.
According to police, the incident happened at about 9:45 a.m. on Sunday when officers responded to a home along the 500 block of Wartman Street in Roxborough on a report of a stabbing.
Here, officers found a 57-year-old man who had been stabbed in his ribs, officials said.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced at about 10:19 a.m.
Investigators in this case have taken a 16-year-old girl into custody in relation to this incident, but, police did not say if she will be charged in the crime.
As of about 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, police said she was being held “for further investigation.”
Officials did not provide further information on how the incident occurred or detail any motive in the stabbing.
But, police said, an investigation is ongoing.
