Suspect flees after downtown Carlsbad stabbing
A man is being treated for serious injuries in a local hospital after being stabbed near the 400 block of Grand Avenue in downtown Carlsbad Sunday morning just before 2 a.m., according to a press release from the City of Carlsbad Police Department.
The suspect fled the scene before authorities arrived. No arrests have been made at this time in connection with the stabbing, according to the Carlsbad Police Department.
The police department believes that the stabbing occurred during a physical altercation involving a group of individuals.
The victim’s identity is currently being withheld, and he is said to be in stable condition.
The Carlsbad Police Department says there is no ongoing threat to the community, and its preliminary investigation indicates that this was an isolated incident.
