Saudi Arabia imposes heavy fines on landlords for rent and contract violations
Saudi Arabia has introduced strict penalties for landlords who violate rental regulations. Unlawful rent increases now carry fines starting at two months’ rent and rising to 12 months for repeated offenses. Failures to register contracts on Ejar or forcing tenants to vacate without justification also incur fines. Tenants retain the right to seek compensation, strengthening protections in Riyadh’s rental market.
