SAN ground stop lifted after delays due to fog

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A ground stop was lifted Tuesday at San Diego International Airport after fog delayed flights.

The ground stop was issued at 8:48 p.m. and lifted shortly after 11 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

All flights were impacted due to the ground stop.

SAN confirmed flight delays due to the fog and encourages people heading to the airport to check their flight status.

A dense fog advisory is in effect for the San Diego coastal area until 6 a.m. Wednesday, per the National Weather Service.

The fog is reducing visibility to one-quarter mile or less.
