San Diego's air quality ranks among worst in U.S., gets failing grades in report
San Diego has been ranked as the 5th most polluted place to live in 2026 by the American Lung Association's annual "State of the Air" report. The report found that nearly half of U.S. children are breathing unhealthy levels of pollution in the air, and San Diego's air quality is among the worst in the country.
