San Diego weather: Warmer weekend

San Diego weather: Warmer weekend

We have a little bit of patchy fog along and near the coast this morning, particularly near the north coast, but we’re still looking at mostly sunny conditions heading into the afternoon.

The warming that started Friday will continue into the weekend. Winds have turned offshore for the mountains. That offshore flow will help warm us up a little more for Saturday and Sunday. Daytime highs west of the mountains are going to be trending about 5-10 degrees for most areas west of the mountains, and we can expect similar temperatures for Sunday, too. Westerly winds will mostly be mild today but will increase slightly by Sunday. Peak wind gusts over our mountains and deserts will range from 25-35mph, while they will be closer to 15-20mph west of the mountains.

Warm, dry, sunny weather will stick around all weekend before a slight cooling trend for next week.

Looking ahead to next week, there is a chance for some rain, but it doesn’t look too promising at this point. A storm to our north will bring rain chances to the central coast and LA as early as Monday and into Tuesday. There’s a chance San Diego could see some of that rain, but it’s looking like it will be light. We will have a better idea of what to expect in the coming days.
