San Diego weather: Nice weekend ahead, another storm next week
We’re in for pretty uneventful, fair weather through Saturday including a mixture of sun and clouds, and slightly warmer temperatures.
Friday will be a pretty mild day for most of the county, but we do have a slight chance for light showers over the mountains and deserts Friday morning.
Then, big changes are heading our way. A cold, wet storm system will move down from the North early next week. Showers could start as early as Sunday afternoon or evening, but much better chances are in store starting Monday. We could end up seeing several rounds of off and on rain through the middle of the week.
This may also be the coldest system we’ve seen so far this winter. So, temperatures will be much cooler than normal, with highs only reaching the upper 50s to low 60s. The colder storm may also bring snow to our local mountains. The snow level will start out around 6,000 feet which would mean snow for Mt. Laguna and Palomar Mtn. The snow level could drop a little lower by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Rain totals and timing are still very much up in the air. So, stay tuned.
