San Diego weather: Easter forecast and cooler pattern change ahead

Easter Sunday will feel a little cooler along the coast and in the valleys, while the mountains and deserts warm up slightly, but overall, it’s shaping up to be a really nice day with warm temperatures and low humidity, especially inland where it could drop to around 10 to 20 percent.

There’s a chance for low clouds and patchy fog to develop Saturday night into Sunday morning, but chances improve Sunday night into Monday morning, with some clouds pushing into the valleys as the marine layer deepens and onshore flow strengthens.

As we head into next week, a major pattern change takes shape with a large, colder low-pressure system approaching, leading to a gradual drop in daytime highs starting Monday and even cooler conditions by next weekend.

Rain chances will also return, but because of the nature of this system, models are still inconsistent on the exact timing, rainfall amounts, and wind strength; for now, the better chances look to be Friday into Saturday—so stay tuned.

SUNDAY:

  • Coast: mostly sunny; mid to upper 70s
  • Inland: mostly sunny; mid to low 80s
  • Mountains: sunny; mid 70s
  • Deserts: Sunny; mid 90s
