San Diego weather: A warm Sunday with a slow cooldown next week
Sunday will start off cool, but as the day goes on, temperatures will climb well above average, about 10 to 15 degrees above normal.
For the Martin Luther King Jr. celebrations, we’re looking at a really nice, warm day, with mostly sunny skies and some scattered high-level clouds surging in from the southwest.

Santa Ana winds will start to diminish by Sunday, but high pressure and offshore flow will continue to dominate, keeping us locked into this weather pattern into early next week.

As we head into next week, onshore flow will strengthen a bit, bringing a slight cool down for coastal communities. The valleys will stay warmer a little longer, with cooler temperatures becoming more noticeable by midweek.
By next weekend, a low-pressure system off the Southern California coast will increase onshore flow, bringing a more noticeable cooling trend. There’s also about a 20 percent chance of rain, but uncertainty remains high, so stay tuned for updates.
