San Diego student arrested with loaded firearm on a school campus

A San Diego Unified School District student was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm on campus, according to the San Diego Police Department.

SDPD’s Ghost Gun Apprehension Team found that the teen, 16, had been supplying firearms and connected him to a recent robbery at a trolley station.

The teen was arrested on May 2 with help from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, and the San Diego Unified School District Police.

At the 16-year-old’s home, officers found a 3D printer, carbon filament, 3D-printed machine gun conversion devices, four 3D-printed handgun frames, more than 100 rounds of ammunition in various calibers, and a handgun magazine and slide, according to SDPD.

That follow-up search led to the teen being booked on multiple charges, including robbery, illegal gun possession and gun manufacturing.

It was not said which school the student attended.
