San Diego County Sheriff's deputies searching for 2 felony suspects in Lakeside
Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office are looking for two felony suspects near Beachtree and Laurel streets in Lakeside on Tuesday afternoon.
The first suspect is described as a 5 feet 6 inches tall, medium build man, 16-20 years old, wearing a hat, a black sweatshirt with a logo on the front, black sweatpants, black and white shoes, SDSO wrote on X at 3:53 p.m.
The second suspect is 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build, also 16-20 years old, wearing a gray shirt and black pants and no shoes.
SDSO is warning the public that the suspects may be armed. If anyone sees the suspects, they are asked to call 911.
Several SDSO vehicles and deputies could be seen in the area on an overhead view from SkyRanger 7.
Lakeside’s El Capitan High School was put on a precautionary lockdown during part of the search, according to the Grossmont Union High School District. By about 5 p.m., the lockdown was lifted as law enforcement gave the school, an “all-clear”, Principal Carrie Gaeir announced. All students and staff are safe, the principal added.
By 4:35 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were continuing to investigate, the agency wrote on X.
By about 6:20 p.m., a SWAT team had arrived at the scene and as well as deputies with tactical gear and a rifle as sheriff’s deputies continued searching for the suspects.
