Recap: Plummeting temperatures after whipping winds, heavy rain Friday

- A First Alert was in effect for our area on Friday, Dec. 19, until 10 p.m. for a strong storm that brought damaging wind gusts leading to power outages, along with morning downpours.
- Heavy rain hit the entire area Friday morning before moving out during the afternoon. The rain led to flooding in parts of the Jersey Shore as well as a difficult morning commute for the Philadelphia region and surrounding suburbs.
- Strong gusty winds began to ramp up around 6 a.m. and continued with some wind gusts of 50 to 60 m.p.h. This lead to power outages as tree limbs or trees were blown down.
