Prop 50 Special Election: Where, when and how to vote in San Diego County
(FOX 5/KUSI) — The final day of California's special election on Proposition 50 has arrived, with voters deciding if the state should redraw its Congressional district maps for several election cycles.
In San Diego County, the city of Poway also has a recall election for one of its council members. Voters in Poway District 2 will determine if their representative, Tony Blain, is removed from his seat.
Voters have until 8 p.m. on November 4 to turn in a vote-by-mail ballot or fill one out in person at a poll, vote center or the county Registrar of Voters office. Ballots can also be mailed, so long as they are postmarked by Tuesday and received by November 12.
Haven't registered or updated your voter registration? No problem. California allows same-day registration at vote centers and county elections offices. You will fill out a provisional ballot, and once all of the information about your registration is processed, your ballot will be counted.
San Diego County has dozens of vote center locations located throughout all of the cities and communities. Find a full list with addresses here.
The California Secretary of State also has a website to find a polling place near you. Enter your address and a list of the closest polling places, drop-off locations and other voting sites will be provided, with their addresses and times.
