Police: 27-year-old man found shot to death inside North Philly apartment
An investigation is underway after, police said, a 27-year-old man was found dead in an apartment in the Logan neighborhood of North Philadelphia after he had been shot in the chest on Sunday.
According to police, officers responded to a report of a shooting at a third-floor apartment in a building along the 1300 block of West Rockland Street at about 9:05 p.m. on Sunday.
Here, officials said, first responders found a 27-year-old man who had been shot in the chest.
Medics pronounced the man at the scene at about 9:20 p.m., officials said.
As of Monday morning, police have announced no motive nor any arrests in this incident.
According to police statistics, as of Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, there were 218 reported homicides in Philadelphia in 2025, down more than 16% from the same time last year which ultimately had the lowest number of homicides in the city in a decade.
