Philadelphia rings in America's birthday with unveiling of replica Liberty Bells

Philadelphia honors America’s birthday in the “most Philly way possible,” with Mayor Cherelle Parker and community members unveiling 22 replicas of the Liberty Bell.

The bells, made by Mural Arts–affiliated artists, were painted to reflect the communities in which they will be displayed for tourists and residents to enjoy throughout 2026.

The unveiling of the bells was held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the School District Warehouse.

“These bells are also a call to action to drive economic activity on our commercial corridor,” said Parker.

While bells will appear in all 67 counties across the Commonweather, these 22 fiberglass bells will be placed in business corridors across the City of Brotherly Love in the following neighborhoods:

  • Chinatown
  • City Hall
  • El Centro de Oro
  • Fox Chase
  • Germantown
  • Hunting Park
  • Logan Square
  • Mayfair
  • Mt. Airy
  • Ogontz
  • Olney
  • Parkside
  • Point Breeze
  • Roxborough
  • South Philadelphia
  • Southwest
  • Torresdale
  • University City
  • West Philadelphia
  • Wynnefield

“We know that there’s gonna be celebrations that happen at Independence Park at the sports complex and the Parkway, but our mission is to make sure that the celebration goes out to every neighborhood and every Philadelphia resident feels connected, has the opportunity to create memories,” said Kathryn Ott Lovell, President & CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation.

The bells will sit in the warehouse through the winter, and officials hope to install them in the high-traffic areas across town in the spring.
