Philadelphia airport to attempt record for ‘longest line of cheesesteaks'
A mouthwatering spectacle, that is very Philly, is set to happen this month.
In honor of National Cheesesteak Day on Tuesday, March 24, Philadelphia International Airport’s PHL Food & Shops, in partnership with the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation, will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the “Longest Line of Cheesesteaks” at the airport.
All restaurants at the airport with cheesesteaks on their menus, including Chickie’s & Pete’s, Geno’s Steaks, Jim’s South St. Famous Cheesesteaks, Passyunk Steaks, Tony Luke’s, and more are set to collaborate in assembling a continuous, “concourse-spanning line” of authentic Philadelphia cheesesteaks — as defined by Guinness — throughout the connector area between Terminals B and C.
Organizers said the record attempt will be adjudicated on-site by a Guinness World Records representative, who will verify the final count and confirm whether the historic milestone has been achieved.
This epic challenge is just one highlight of PHL Cheesesteak Week, running from Monday, March 23, to Sunday, March 29, at the airport.
Beyond this exciting event, travelers can enjoy exclusive cheesesteak-inspired dishes, score special meal deals, and join in interactive festivities honoring the City of Brotherly Love’s iconic sandwich all week long
