Pembroke Pines man arrested after 3 dogs found in crate on cold patio: Cops

A Pembroke Pines man was arrested after three malnourished dogs were found in a crate on a cold patio over the weekend, police said.

Pembroke Pines Police said officers responded after being alerted by a good Samaritan and found the three dogs inside a 4×5 foot crate in a home’s enclosed patio.

The dogs didn’t have access to food or water and were unprotect from cold termerpatures that were below 40 degrees at the time of the investigation, police said.

All three dogs appeared to be malnourished and there was no dog food available in the home, officials said.

The dogs were taken in by the police department’s Animal Assistance Program for medical treatment and care.

Their owner, 24-year-old Jaylen Holmes, was arrested on multiple counts of animal abuse including confining animals without food or water and keeping animals in an insufficient enclosure.
