Officers shoot, kill armed man in domestic altercation in Sweetwater, police say

Officers shot and killed a man Wednesday, who they say was in a domestic altercation with a pregnant woman in Sweetwater, police officials said.

According to Sweetwater Police, a 911 call came in at around 6:25 p.m. about a domestic altercation in the 11600 block of Southwest 7th Terrace.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman and the man, who was armed with a knife, police said. Officials said they were apparently husband and wife.

Police said there was a confrontation, and the 30-year-old man was killed.

The woman, who is five months pregnant, was taken to the hospital for some bruises, police said.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is also investigating the shooting.
