No threat found at Miami-Dade school after armed person report unfounded: Sheriff
The all clear was given after a report of an armed person on the campus of a Miami-Dade school that led to lockdowns and a large police response on Wednesday was unfounded, officials said.
Following a sweep at Christopher Columbus High School after reports of a potentially armed person at the campus, deputies determined there was no threat, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office officials said.
Deputies had received reports of a potential armed person at Columbus and responded to the school to investigate.
During the incident, Columbus and three other schools – St. Brendan Elementary and High School, and Banyan Elementary – were placed on lockdown.

Deputies said that after searching both Columbus and St. Brendan, there was no active shooter and no threat, and that the call was unfounded.
No injuries were reported.
Columbus school officials said seniors will be dismissed at 12:10 p.m. and underclassmen could be picked up at 12:20 p.m.
An investigation into the incident remains active.
